ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed Sunday said that it was a prerogative of the National Assembly speaker to convene the assembly session after March 15 and added that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s position would be clearer in the following two days.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the interior minister expressed his respect for Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and called him his brother. He said people got angry when he stated that parties with four to five seats were blackmailing the government.

“But I took the name of neither PML-Q nor Chaudhry Brothers. I owe a great deal to the PML-Q elders – Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi and Khawaja Safdar,” he said and added that the mother of Chaudhry Shujaat used to send meal to him when he was in jail. “The government wants to take the allies along,” he stated.
