A recent report on the 14th session of the National Assembly reveals significant absenteeism, with only 15 percent of Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) attending all sittings.

The session, conducted over eight sittings from March 11 to 21, 2025, saw 12 percent of MNAs missing every sitting entirely.

The second sitting recorded the highest attendance, with 66 percent of MNAs present, while the seventh sitting saw a drop to 42 percent. A substantial 85 percent of MNAs missed at least one sitting, with 33 percent of these submitting leave applications. However, 67 percent skipped proceedings without prior notice.

Among cabinet members, three federal ministers and three state ministers led in attendance, each participating in seven sittings. The Prime Minister was notably absent for all, while the Leader of the Opposition was present for three sittings, comprising 38 percent of the session.
