Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama calls for peace in occupied Kashmir

Hinting at the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva regime’s conspiracies to stoke communal differences in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the top Muslim religious platform Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU), led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on Tuesday declared that no attempts would be permitted to spread sectarian discord to disrupt peace and harmony in the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the MMU, in a statement released after a meeting at the residence of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in Srinagar, expressed a strong commitment to preserving the territory’s traditional communal harmony.

The MMU, a coalition of various religious scholars and clergy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, made an earnest appeal to scholars, mosque imams, and social media influencers from various schools of thought and sects to respect each other’s beliefs.
