Muslim traders forced to flee in Himachal Pradesh

Muslim leaders said that Muslim traders are forced to flee following a Hindutva mob attack on the shop of Muslim man Javed in the presence of the Indian state police in Himachal Pradesh state.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Monday, the Muslim leaders in Nahan town of the state said Muslim traders are forced to flee the town following a Hindutva mob attack on the shop of Javed, the Uttar Pradesh man whose shop was vandalised and looted in the town in the presence of the state police last week.

Javed was not present in Nahan when his shop was attacked and vandalised. He had reportedly come home in Uttar Pradesh for the Eid festivities.

Days after a Muslim man’s shop was attacked in Nahan town of Himachal Pradesh state over claims of cow slaughter, the police investigation has found that the Muslim shopkeeper had not slaughtered the cow but a buffalo, legally permitted for slaughtering and consumption.
