Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the wife of illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik, has expressed grave concern over her husband’s deteriorating health due to his ongoing hunger strike in Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail.
According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, Mushaal Mullick in a statement in Islamabad appealed to global leaders and human rights organizations to intervene and take action to save Yasin Malik’s life.
She stated India is attempting to silence Yasin Malik through deceitful tactics. She emphasized that the prolonged hunger strike could be life-threatening for him, and the lack of medical treatment has severely worsened his health.
While warning the RSS-backed BJP-led Indian government, Mushaal said that if anything untoward were to happen to Yasin Malik, the Indian government would be directly responsible.
She called on the international community and human rights organizations to stop their double standards and take notice of the unjust treatment being meted out to her husband in jail. She urged them to take immediate action for his release.
It is pertinent to mention that Mohammad Yasin Malik has been on a hunger strike since November 01, protesting the lack of medical facilities provided by the jail authorities.
