Minister for Petroleum Dr Musadiq Malik on Sunday called for constructive dialogue to address national issues while keeping it separate from criminal proceedings.
Talking to media in Lahore, he said that the agenda of dialogue would not include criminal cases involving PTI’s leadership. Referring to the allegations against the PTI founder, Musaddiq said the cases against him were criminal in nature.
Citing to Al Qadir Trust case, he said that as per prosecution, the state resources were misappropriated, and a 400-kanal land was taken in the guise of the Trust.
About the May 9 events, he said, whether it was the attack on the Corps Commander’s House, the military tower, or martyrs’ monuments, such crimes had nothing to do with dialogue. He said trials for those offences would proceed based on evidence.
Earlier, addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 21st International Pharmacy Conference and Exhibition in Lahore today, the minister said that the digitalization of pharmaceutical sector was underway, making it more transparent.
He said that the country’s economy was progressing in the right direction as the ratio of price hike had lowered considerably.
