Musadik Stresses Integrated Approach to Disaster Management

Islamabad: Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik has emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive, integrated, and people-centric approach to disaster management. Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad, Dr. Malik highlighted Pakistan's heightened vulnerability to climate-related disasters, including torrential floods, glacial-lake outburst floods, and extreme weather events, with a particular focus on the northern regions.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister underlined the importance of modern technology in enhancing disaster response mechanisms. He pointed out that satellite systems, drones, and real-time data integration could significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these responses. Dr. Malik reaffirmed the government's dedication to leveraging these technologies and reinforcing institutional frameworks to develop a resilient system aimed at safeguarding lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure against the adverse effects of climate change.
