Muhammad Ali lauds continuous engagement of China with Pakistan in energy sector

Caretaker Minister for Power and Petroleum Muhammad Ali has appreciated the continuous engagement of China with Pakistan in energy sector.

He was talking to Ambassador of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong, who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The Minister said utilizing the cutting edge technology of Chinese corporation at Coal Gasification plant in Thar can help bolster energy supply to industry.

He extended his congratulations for successful 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that was held earlier this month in China.

The Minister remarked that Pakistan’s future energy landscape would revolve around indigenous and renewable sources.

He said renewables, transmission network and DISCOs could be some of the prime areas for linkages between China and Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador remarked that Belt and Road Initiative had become a new guidance for international development and industries of both sides could benefit from this cooperation.

He also welcomed the proposal of the Energy Minister to organize a delegation of private companies to meet with the Chinese enterprises in order to boost cooperation between the two countries.
