Motorway Police Issue Urgent Rain Driving Warning

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH and MP) have issued an urgent advisory, strongly recommending drivers exercise utmost care during rainy conditions.

Wet roadways create hazardous conditions, substantially raising the chances of collisions. The public is encouraged to postpone nonessential journeys.

If travel is unavoidable, the NH and MP advises motorists to decrease their velocity and maintain a safe following distance. They also stress the importance of functioning headlights and windshield wipers. Distractions, such as mobile phone use, should be completely avoided, keeping drivers’ attention focused on the road.

Travelers to mountainous regions, particularly tourists, should be extra vigilant.

For emergencies or roadside assistance, the NH and MP helpline can be reached at 130. An NH and MP representative emphasized, ‘Your safety is our paramount concern.’
