A distressing increase has been observed in the incidents of suicides among impoverished mothers, with the latest incident being the third such tragedy this month, raising serious concerns about the impact of severe economic hardships on vulnerable families.

Shamu, a mother of three, took her own life today in the village of Mian Pota. Officials stated that the wife of Hameero Kohli committed suicide by hanging, disheartened by her financial circumstances.

After completing the necessary legal procedures, the police handed over the deceased’s body to her heirs.

According to reports, a significant number of these incidents have been observed among married mothers of several children, particularly within the Kohli community, which presents a major social challenge.

This worsening situation has prompted calls for government bodies and social welfare organizations to implement effective protective strategies, aiming to ensure that severe poverty does not compel individuals to take such desperate measures.
