More monsoon rains predicted in many areas of Pakistan

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forcast on Thursday that monsoon currents at lower tropospheric levels are continuously penetrating from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal to upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also prevailing over upper parts of the country.

Thursday weather: More rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad and upper Punjab. Heavyfalls may also occur at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab and Kashmir during the period. Rain-wind/thundershower is expected at few places in south Balochistan. However, light rain is likely at few places in lower Sindh.

Friday weather: Rain-wind/thundershower is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper/central Punjab. Heavyfalls may also occur at isolated places in upper Kashmir and northeast Punjab during the period. However, light rain is likely at few places in lower Sindh.

Rain-wind/thundershower (isolated heavyfalls) occurred in Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Hot and humid weather prevailed over other parts of the country.
