Mirwaiz denounces restrictions on his movement imposed by IIOJK authorities

Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today revealed that the administration installed by New Delhi in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has imposed severe restrictions on his movement, effectively barring him from engaging in political and social activities.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in a statement in Srinagar, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed profound concern over his inability to attend Friday prayers and participate in other activities due to unjust measures imposed by the authorities. He described these measures as a sign of the occupation authorities’ increasing desperation.

He stated that he was being intermittently placed under house arrest to prevent him from attending Friday prayers and other religious, political, and social events.

Mirwaiz criticized the BJP-led administration for controlling his freedom of movement at their discretion, with explicit instructions to confine him to his home.

‘This pattern of restriction began anew following my release from house detention last September,’ Mirwaiz stated. He condemned the authorities for detaining him without any clear explanation or justification, emphasizing the distress this situation causes both to him and to those involved in his activities.
