Minister for Religious Affairs, Saudi Ambassador launch Road to Makkah project

Islamabad:Minister for Religious Affairs Senator Talha Mahmood along with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki launched the Road to Makkah project here at Islamabad International Airport on Thursday under which 26 thousand intending pilgrims will travel to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj.

Addressing the launching ceremony, the Minister said all matters related to immigration of Hajj pilgrims this year will be resolved at the Islamabad Airport.

He said the government is also deliberating upon launching of Road to Makkah project at other airports in Pakistan including Peshawar, Multan and Quetta. He said work will also be started soon to launch Road to Makkah project from Karachi and Lahore.

The Minister said the government is utilizing all available resources to facilitate the pilgrims and will make the payment on behalf of the Hajj pilgrims for sacrificing animals during Hajj.

Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi Ambassador said his government will make its best efforts to provide facilities to the Pakistani pilgrims for Hajj at other airport from next year.
