The Meteorological Department’s Quetta Regional Center on Tuesday issued a weather warning stating, dry conditions and nighttime temperatures are likely to remain 3-5°C above normal, which may create heatwave-like conditions during the current week, including the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, in the districts of Sibbi, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Usta Muhammad, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Sohbatpur, Chagai, Nokkundi, and parts of Washuk, Kharan, Kech, and Awaran, including adjoining areas.
All concerned authorities are requested to take necessary measures accordingly. Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the province, while very hot conditions and above-normal temperatures, along with very hot winds (Loo-like conditions), are expected in the districts of Chagai, Washuk, Kharan, Kech, Awaran, Sibbi, Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Usta Muhammad, and Sohbatpur, including surrounding areas, during the next 24 hours. Hot and humid to partly cloudy weather is expected in the coastal belt during the same period.

Hot and humid to partly cloudy weather is expected in the coastal belt during the next 48 hours.

Met Office Advisory: Due to intense heatwave conditions, the general public, especially children, the elderly, women, and outdoor workers, are strongly advised to take precautionary measures. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight between 11:00 AM and 05:00 PM. Stay hydrated and drink water frequently, even if not thirsty. Farmers and livestock owners should adjust field activities to early morning or late evening and ensure shade and water for animals.
Judicious use of water is required in all aspects of life.
Avoid dehydrating food and drinks such as excessive tea, coffee, and high-salt foods. Do not drink ice-cold water immediately after coming in from the heat, as it may cause health issues. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting cotton clothes and cover the head with a cloth, hat, or umbrella when going outside. If you must go outside, cover your head using a cloth, hat, or umbrella for protection.
