Meeting Held to Address Teachers’ Issues and Improve Educational Institutions in Azad Kashmir

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq chaired a high-level meeting to address teachers’ issues and improve educational institutions. Senior Minister Colonel (Retd) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Education Minister Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai, and Planning and Development Minister Chaudhry Rashid, along with key ministers and officials, attended the meeting. The meeting focused on key educational reforms.

Education Secretary Schools Qazi Inayat briefed the participants on the current state of educational institutions, teacher recruitment needs across various subjects, cadre differences, and staffing needs for effective administration. The Prime Minister was also briefed on the issues of post allocation and administrative hurdles.

Prime Minister Haq stressed the critical need to improve educational administration and demanded the rationalization of institutions in every district at the earliest. He pledged to address staff shortages according to each institution’s needs, emphasizing that a sound strategy would ensure a more productive structure. He added that necessary legislation for improvements would be enacted.

Underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing the educational structure, the Prime Minister said administrative hurdles were being removed to ensure its efficiency. He reiterated his government’s commitment to merit-based appointments and the allocation of public resources for public benefit. He assured that all available resources would be utilized for the welfare of the people and quality education for future generations. He ordered a comprehensive review and prompt actions for improvement.

Minister Chughtai and Secretary Inayat also briefed the Prime Minister regarding teacher promotions. Acknowledging that quality education, a fundamental constitutional right, necessitates addressing the legitimate issues of teachers and providing them with financial stability, Prime Minister Haq directed immediate resolution of the matter.

Participants unanimously agreed to prioritize and expedite addressing teachers’ issues and implementing educational reforms. The Prime Minister issued immediate directions to the Education Secretary Schools in this regard.
