Kuwait city: Takeoff and landing operations have been temporarily suspended at Kuwait International Airport, as announced by Kuwait's national carrier on Saturday. The airline stated that it has rescheduled most of its flights due to the measure, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

According to Nam News Network, "Most flights have been rescheduled due to the temporary suspension of takeoffs and landings at Kuwait International Airport as a result of the Iranian aggression," Kuwait Airways mentioned in a statement carried by the state-run KUNA news agency. Passengers have been advised to stay updated on their flight status as the situation progresses.

The suspension of operations at the airport comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The region has witnessed retaliatory strikes between the United States and Iran, with Kuwait being one of the regional countries affected by Tehran's response. This development follows a US-initiated strike on Iran, which prompted Iranian counterattacks on countries hosting US assets, including Kuwait.

The ongoing exchange of fire between the US and Iran persists despite diplomatic efforts to ease tensions. A memorandum of understanding, brokered by Pakistan in June, aimed at ending hostilities and working towards a lasting peace agreement, but recent events have overshadowed these efforts.
