KP people need to open their eyes to see what is happening to them: Sharneel

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated today that the people of KPK need to open their eyes and see what is happening to them. Despite being in its third term in KPK, the PTI government has failed to provide employment opportunities, forcing people to migrate to other areas for work.

The party’s founder is not sincere to anyone-not the PTI, the country, the people, or even party members. He is only committed to his own interests. He made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation of KPK journalists in Karachi. The journalists met with Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon at his office, where the Minister warmly welcomed the journalists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on their visit to Sindh.

Speaking at the meeting, Memon stated that before the journalists from Peshawar, journalist colleagues from Lahore also visited Sindh to review the ongoing projects. He noted that media reports and speeches often differ, and the Sindh government faces propaganda driven by a wellorchestrated conspiracy. Through this visit, the journalists will witness firsthand the significant work done by the Sindh government. He stated that Pakistan is currently facing an energy crisis, and coal from Tharparkar is the only solution to this challenge. Work on the Shaheed Bibi Thar Coal project had been initiated, but it was halted as soon as his government ended. In 2008, under the vision of President Asif Ali Zardari, work on the Thar Coal project resumed to honor the legacy of Shaheed Bibi.

Memon stated that Thar Coal will resolve Pakistan’s longterm energy crisis. Currently, more than 3,500 MW of electricity is being generated from Thar Coal, which serves as the lifeblood of Pakistan’s economy. The Sindh government has invested $2 billion in the Thar Coal project.

He said that the Sindh government is providing valuable services in the healthcare sector. Millions of people are receiving free treatment at the NICVD, benefiting not only residents of Pakistan but also international patients. The CyberKnife technology at the NICVD is serving patients from countries like Afghanistan and Iran. In addition, Gambat Hospital offers free liver transplants, and the Sindh government provides a grant of five billion rupees to Indus Hospital. In Sindh, no health or identity card is required for treatment-hospitals serve everyone, from all across Pakistan. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that the Government of Sindh launched the EV Bus and Pink Bus services for women, marking the first time such initiatives have been introduced in Pakistan’s history. Providing safe and convenient travel facilities for women is a key part of the Sindh government’s vision.

He further said that while floods affected the entire country, it is only the Sindh government, under the leadership of the Pakistan People’s Party that is building homes for the flood victims. Following the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, 2.1 million houses are being constructed, and Sindh’s housing project is receiving recognition and awards. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the Sindh government has initiated a solarization system to address the energy crisis. Solar systems will be provided to 200,000 families. Additionally, the wind power plant is a major project of the Sindh government, and there are plans to build a solar park as well.

He expressed a desire for journalists from across the country to visit Sindh and review the ongoing projects. He emphasized that public service should not involve spreading hatred, bigotry, or causing divisions. The politics of hatred and prejudice must be replaced with genuine public service.

He stated that work on the K4 project is progressing, and the longstanding water problem in Karachi is set to be resolved soon. During the three years of the PTI government, the K4 plan faced numerous challenges. The population of Karachi is continuously increasing, with millions of people moving to the city daily in search of employment. He added that Karachi bears the burden of the entire country, leading to numerous problems. The city’s population growth and urban sprawl exacerbate these issues, and Karachi is not receiving the equitable share it deserves from the federal government.

Memon stated that the CEC of the Pakistan Peoples Party had declared immediately after the elections that they were ready to negotiate with everyone. However, the PTI refused to engage in negotiations with the PPP. The PPP is not part of the current government but provided unconditional support to PMLN in the formation of the government.

He highlighted that Sindh is the only province where two cadet colleges for women have been established. Additionally, the Sindh government allocates funds in every budget for the construction of new universities or campuses. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the people of KPK need to open their eyes and see their current situation.

Despite being in its third term in KPK, the PTI government has failed to address employment issues, with people still migrating from KP to other areas in search of work. He criticized the founder, stating that he is not sincere to anyone-be it PTI, the country, the people, or party members-only to his own interests. After the meeting, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon presented traditional Sindhi shawls and caps to the distinguished journalists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In return, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa journalists honored Senior Minister Memon with a souvenir shield, a shawl, and a Pakhtoon cap.
