PESHAWAR: 18th meeting of Board of Directors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA) was held here the other day with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in the chair which approved revised budget 2020-21 and estimated budget of authority for the financial year 2021-22 as recommended by the finance committee of the TEVTA.
Special Assistant to CM for Industries Abdul Karim, concerned administrative secretaries, Principal Secretary to CM Amjad Ali Khan and others attended the meeting. The meeting was briefed in detail about the progress on implementation of the decisions taken in last meeting of the board and it was told that new vacancies have been created for Gems and Jewelry Training Centre Hayatabad adding that in line with the board’s decision Women Vocational Centre has been established in Swat as well.
It was further informed that decision regarding MoUs with Wish International and Sarhad Chamber of Commerce Industry had also been implemented. The forum approved standard operating procedure for regulating commercial activities inside Technical and Vocational Educational Training Institutes. Moreover, the board also granted approval for notification of ToRs of human resource committee of KP TEVTA. The board also approved name of Zia Muhammad as private member of HR Committee of TEVTA and creation of posts for institutes of KP TEVTA.
Chief Minister directed the quarters concerned to take concrete steps for the promotion of foreign investment and to facilitate those foreign investors who are interested to invest in the province. An agenda item for granting approval to sign MoU with international firms for the establishment of Automotive Research Training Centre, Joint organization of seminars and technical support in Smart Teaching and Learning Tools was also placed before the forum.
In this regard, the chief minister directed the authorities concerned to ensure the consultation with Law department and other stakeholders and submit the matter to the BoD in its next meeting. The chief minister, speaking on the occasion said that the provincial government was taking result oriented steps for the promotion of Technical Education in the province which aimed at providing skills learning opportunities to the youth of the province.
