KARACHI: On the directives of Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the City Wardens Department of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has removed of all types of flags and panaflexes along Sharea Faisal from airport to Governor House, from Sharah-e-Quaideen to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum, and from Clifton Do Talwar roundabout to Clifton Bridge and Metropole, and other areas.
Additionally, the KMC officials have carried out this work in Kashmir Road, near IBA City Campus, Numaish, and People’s Chowrangi for the removal of flags, banners, and panaflexes.
Mayor Wahab has underscored the importance of this initiative as part of the city’s beautification process, emphasizing the responsibility of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation in fulfilling its obligations to the citizens. The Mayor has called upon citizens to actively participate in neighborhood cleaning initiatives, likening the effort to maintaining one’s own home.
Beautification efforts are already underway on major thoroughfares such as Shara-e-Faisal, with plans to make them more verdant and attractive. Wahab’s proactive measures aim not only to enhance the physical appearance of Karachi but also to instill a sense of pride and ownership among its residents.
