Former UN envoy and ex-president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan, has pressed for the complete execution of UN Security Council resolutions on Kashmir, emphasizing the need for a free and impartial plebiscite. Speaking to an assembly of academics and pupils, he stressed that the Kashmir issue remains a vital fight for dignity, liberty, and global justice. Khan asserted that the recent conflict between India and Pakistan stemmed from the Kashmir dispute.

The confrontation, he explained, began with the Pahalgam incident and concluded with a renewed focus on Kashmir”s significance. He noted that US President Trump”s post-conflict remarks have brought Kashmir back into the international spotlight. The continued denial of Kashmiri self-determination, Khan argued, creates ongoing instability in South Asia, raising the specter of nuclear escalation. He maintained that lasting peace requires justice for Kashmiris.

The former AJK president advocated for third-party intervention by reputable global entities, including the United States, to settle the Kashmir matter. Addressing Pakistani youth, Khan stated that the future of Kashmir is in their hands. He encouraged them to champion the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris on every available platform, including academic, digital, and diplomatic avenues.

The former UN ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan”s steadfast commitment to providing continuous political, diplomatic, and ethical backing to Kashmir”s right to self-determination, aligning with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri population.
