In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has asserted that the Kashmir dispute can only be resolved through a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue process, underscoring that no issue has ever been settled through violence or force.
According to KMS report on Friday, speaking to mediapersons in Srinagar, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq stressed the importance of a political solution to the Kashmir dispute. ‘We want to emerge from this state of uncertainty, and for that, a constructive dialogue is essential to resolve the dispute,’ he said.
He further highlighted that the newly-formed government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir has a fundamental duty to address the everyday issues of the people. Regarding the Kashmir dispute, he stated that India must change its approach.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also reiterated that they do not seek bloodshed or violence, expressing confidence that Pakistan’s leadership, too, is committed to resolving the issue through peaceful negotiations.
