The largest Eid prayer gathering in Karachi under the administration of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) will be held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Polo Ground), where Eid prayers will be offered at 8:00 AM. Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Salimi will lead the congregation.
KMC spokesperson said today that this traditional gathering had been held at Polo Ground since 1958. This year, extensive preparations have been completed for the event.
Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Municipal Commissioner SM Afzal Zaidi, diplomats from Islamic countries, former and current federal and provincial ministers, members of national and provincial assemblies, heads of local government bodies, city council members, and representatives from political and social organizations are expected to attend the Eid prayers.
Following instructions from the Mayor of Karachi, special arrangements for ablution have been made for attendees. Security measures have also been finalized.
Disinfection spray will be applied around the Eidgah area, while the main entrance will feature a flower-decorated gate to welcome worshippers. Fragrance will be sprayed in and around the prayer area before the Eid prayers on the morning of Eid.
Wahab underscored the significance of Eid as an important religious occasion and emphasized the need to include the underprivileged in the celebrations to observe the festival in line with Islamic values.
