KAMBAR: Out of 448 qualified candidates for the posts of Primary School Teachers (PSTs) BPS-14, only 174 candidates have been issued offer letters in Kambar-Shahdadkot district and 274 candidates have been put on waiting list owing to unavailability of SNE, PPI reliably learnt here on Thursday.

The Primary Teachers Association (PTA) has not only condemned the act of the Education Department but has also warned to join ongoing protest demonstrations by the successful candidates for their rights.

According to details, offer letters have been distributed among 174 candidates of Kambar-Shahdadkot district for the posts of PSTs but 274 candidates have been left behind owing to non-approval and non-release of SNE by the provincial government of Sindh.

Out of 146 successful candidates of Shahdadkot taluka, 118 have been given offer letters and 28 have been put on the waiting list. In Qubo Saeed Khan taluka out of 127 only nine candidates have been given offer letters and 118 candidates have been put on waiting list. Out of 44 successful candidates of Sujawal Junejo taluka only 23 have been issued offer letters and 21 people have been asked to wait. Out of 131 successful candidates of Nasirabad taluka only 24 have been given offer letters and 107 have been put on waiting list.

This has created widespread unrest among the successful candidates who passed the test on merit held in September 2021 by the IBA across Sindh for recruitment of 50,000 PSTs and JESTs.

District Education Officer (Primary) and member of District Selection Committee, Anees-ur-Rahman Jalbani, confirmed that due to non-release of SNE successful candidates have been put on waiting list adding that we have written to the provincial Education Department for approval and release of the SNE after which all left over qualified candidates of Kambar-Shahdadkot district will also be issued offer letters.

Meanwhile, Mumtaz Wadho, President, PTA, Kambar Shahdadkot, condemned non-issuance of offer letters to all the successful candidates of the district and said that when there was no SNE then why the vacancies were announced and when the candidates have already qualified for the declared vacant posts then raising issue of unavailability of SNE is unjustified and amounts to denying jobs to the deserving people. He said the Sindh Government should approve and release the pending SNE forthwith to end unrest among the poor candidates or else he warned PTA will join the ongoing protest of candidates which shall continue till SNE is released and offer letters are handed over to the qualified candidates.
