The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has ushered in a new era in the judicial landscape by inaugurating Pakistan’s first evening court in Abbottabad. This innovative court will operate until 5:30 PM and aims to expedite the resolution of family court matters, tenancy disputes, stay orders, and minor cases with sentences of less than three years.

Chief Justice Syed Atiq Shah, while inaugurating it on Wednesday at the Abbottabad Courts, appointed Civil Judge Ashfaq to oversee the proceedings. The court began its work by hearing its first family case. Registrar Muhammad Zeb, addressing the press, emphasized the court’s uniqueness, being the first of its kind in the country and designed to assist the wider community, especially in resolving pending legal issues of students.

The court’s jurisdiction covers cases with lesser punishments, tenancy disputes, stay orders, family disputes, and issues requiring prompt resolution.
