The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and the Students Liberation Front (SLF) organized a torchlight rally in Muzaffarabad, the capital of AJK, to show solidarity with the illegally detained party chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, held in New Delhi’s notorious Tihar Jail.
According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, the rally was led by Khawaja Manzoor Ahmad Chishti, the central secretary of Finance for JKLF. The event, held in the Chhatar area of Muzaffarabad city, saw a substantial turnout of youths who chanted slogans demanding Yasin Malik’s release and denounced the ongoing Indian state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the rally, Khawaja Manzoor Ahmad Chishti and other speakers condemned the Modi government’s actions against Yasin Malik as a blatant act of political vendetta. They criticized the inhumane and undemocratic practices of the BJP-led Indian government under Narendra Modi and called on the international community and human rights organizations to exert pressure on India for Malik’s release.
The rally was attended by JKLF Muzaffarabad District President Raja Asim, SLF central spokesperson Faheem Bhaya, District President Nauman Mir, City President Moez Raja, and several other leaders and activists.
