Jamaat-e-Islami Condemns Israeli Attacks, Calls for Immediate Action on Gaza

In a strong condemnation of Israel’s ongoing bombardment of Gaza, emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Monem Zafar Khan, blamed Israel for committing genocide against Palestinians under the protection of the United States.

He criticized the international community’s inaction and called for urgent measures to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Addressing a press conference, Monem Khan denounced Israel’s airstrikes, which have disproportionately targeted hospitals, women, children, and medical facilities. He expressed particular outrage at the Israeli military’s use of food supplies as a weapon of war, calling it a ‘shameful’ tactic. Khan urged that the Rafah border be immediately opened to allow the delivery of essential supplies and provide an escape route for those seeking refuge.

The latest escalation in Gaza, which has resulted in nearly 3,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 8,000 injuries, has prompted widespread international concern. According to reports, Israel’s aerial bombardments continue at a rapid pace, with an airstrike every four minutes on average. Khan pointed out that while President Joe Biden’s administration claims to address the humanitarian crisis, it appears more focused on controlling Gaza rather than halting the violence.

JI Karachi emir reaffirmed that the Palestinian cause, particularly the liberation of Al-Quds (Jerusalem), is a matter of faith for Muslims worldwide. He emphasized that the land of Palestine belongs to its rightful inhabitants, the Palestinians, and that Israel is an illegal state created under British and Western powers. He accused the West of supporting Israel’s expansionist agenda, which seeks to establish a ‘Greater Israel’ by displacing the indigenous Palestinian population.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader expressed unwavering support for Hamas fighters and the people of Gaza, stressing that their struggle for the freedom of Jerusalem and the protection of Palestinian land must continue. Khan criticized Arab leaders for their silence and lack of decisive action, but reassured that the Muslim Ummah stands united in its support for Gaza.
