Convener of the World Minorities Alliance and former Federal Minister, J. Salik, on Wednesday led a protest rally in Islamabad against India’s suspension of water treaty-an action he termed ‘an act of silent warfare’ and a violation of international law.

The rally commenced from Argentina Park and culminated at the National Press Club, drawing a diverse crowd including youth, elders, women, and interfaith leaders.

The participants waved national flags and carried placards and banners with strong messages condemning India’s actions and expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Addressing the demonstrators, J. Salik strongly criticized India’s efforts to choke Pakistan’s water flow, emphasizing that such moves threaten regional stability.

‘India’s act of suspending water treaty to choke Pakistan’s water is not just a violation of international law-it’s an act of silent warfare. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces,’ he said.

He urged the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take immediate notice and intervene before the situation escalates further.

The peaceful rally was held under tight security, and participants commended J. Salik’s leadership, reaffirming their commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s water rights and national sovereignty.
