Islamabad will not allow anything to undermine its strategic partnership with Beijing: PM

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reiterated that Islamabad will not allow anything to undermine its strategic partnership with Beijing and it will continue supporting the one-China policy.

He was speaking at a delegation level meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on Thursday. He said Pakistan will not take an inch back when it comes to its relationship with China.

Appreciating President Xi Jinping’s vision of connectivity, the Prime Minister said it is a roadmap for not just physical connectivity but it is important stabilizing factor in the international order.

He said Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Chinese leadership’s vision of connectivity is an answer to all the political, economic, and social challenges the world is facing today.

Acknowledging China’s path of modernization, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said it is stimulant for all nations to transform the lives of their people. Speaking on the occasion, President Xi Jinping said China stands ready to work with Pakistan to carry forward its traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and engage in high quality cooperation under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He also expressed his country’s commitment to accelerate the building of an even closer China-Pakistan community with the shared future for the new era and make new contributions for peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world.
