Islamabad Police Forms Special Teams For Muharram Security

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has established specialized monitoring and vigilance units to safeguard processions and gatherings during MuharramulHaram in the federal capital.

An official notification confirms the formation of these teams. Islamabad has been segmented into five divisions for enhanced security. DG Safe City Shakir Hussain Dawar and AIG Logistics Abdul Haq Umarani will supervise security in the Rural Division. DIG Law and Order Muhammad Atiq Tahir and AIG Operations Arsalan Shahzeb will manage security in the I9 zone.

DIG Security Syed Ali Raza and SSP CTD Hamza Humayun will be accountable for the City Division. SSP Safe City Muhammad Iqbal and DSP ARF Ghulam Mustafa will control the Saddar Division. AIG Establishment/Investigations Syed Enayat Ali Shah and SSP ShamsulHaq Durrani will be in charge of security for the Sohan Division.

The IGP emphasized that Islamabad Police are committed to delivering comprehensive security measures during MuharramulHaram, ensuring the safety of all processions and assemblies in the capital. Officers will also focus on public assistance, including safety precautions, parking management, and efficient traffic regulation.

He urged residents to collaborate with law enforcement and promptly report any grievances, suspicious behavior, or individuals via “Call 15.” The IGP reiterated that the paramount objective of Islamabad Police is to ensure the complete security of its citizens.
