Islamabad admin imposes Rs955,000 fine on profiteers during Ramadan

The Islamabad District Administration on Tuesday released its performance report on the operations against profiteers conducted so far from the start of holy month of Ramadan.

According to the report, Assistant Commissioners and Price Control Magistrates have collectively taken 430 actions so far. Seven shops were sealed for selling items at high prices during Ramadan.

Seventy-eight individuals were arrested for violating the official price list, and a fine of Rs955,000 was imposed on profiteers. The administration has ensured strict monitoring of prices and quality of items in Ramadan markets and bazaars. Citizens have been urged to report any violations to the helpline.
