Islamabad admin conducts 344 operations against profiteers

During its ongoing crackdown against the profiteers, the Islamabad district administration conducted 344 operations during the last 24 hours.

During the crackdowns, four shops were sealed for non-compliance with the government’s relief policy. 75 shopkeepers were arrested for overcharging customers.

Besides, over Rs118,000 in fines were imposed on various shopkeepers. The Deputy Commissioner conducted surprised visits to various markets.

The Deputy Commissioner’s 24/7 helpline responded promptly to citizen complaints. The district administration has deployed 30 magistrates and eight assistant commissioners to ensure zero tolerance for profiteers during Ramadan.

With the help of citizens, the administration aims to enforce the official price list throughout the holy month.
