Pakistan’s Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, today applauded the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, commending Iran’s robust response against a stronger opponent.

Speaking with reporters at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Asif praised Tehran’s steadfastness. “Iran’s determined resistance is praiseworthy. The Iranian populace and leadership should be lauded for their valiant defense,” he declared.

Asif highlighted two recent triumphs for the Muslim world, viewing them as evidence of the Islamic community”s strength and solidarity. “We now implore divine mercy for the people of Gaza,” he added.

The truce concludes 12 days of fierce fighting between Iran and Israel, marked by casualties and destruction on both sides. The cessation of hostilities was achieved through diplomatic efforts.

Earlier, Pakistan openly denounced Israel’s actions against Iran. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif characterized the Israeli offensive as a breach of international law and an infringement upon Iran’s sovereignty.
