Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, describing Iran’s response as a bold and commendable defence against a more powerful adversary.
Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly on Tuesday, Khawaja Asif praised Iran’s firm stance during the conflict, stating: “Iran’s resolute resistance deserves admiration. Both the Iranian people and government should be commended for their courageous defence.”
The minister further remarked that the Muslim world has witnessed two significant victories in recent days, calling them a testament to the strength and unity of the Islamic Ummah. “Now, we pray for Allah’s mercy on the people of Gaza,” he added.
The ceasefire follows 12 days of intense and deadly conflict between Iran and Israel, during which both sides suffered casualties and damage. The truce was reached through diplomatic channels, bringing a temporary halt to hostilities.
Previously, Pakistan had openly condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif labelled the Israeli attacks as a violation of international law and an assault on Iran’s sovereignty.
