QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Wednesday announced a compensation for the heirs of two killed woman and injured girls who fell victim to the Iran’s airstrike in district Panjgur of Balochistan province.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has directed Deputy Commissioner Panjgur to provide compensation to the heirs of two women and injured girls.
The Deputy Commissioner Panjgur has been directed to fulfill all the codal formalities immediately for this compensation.
It is pertinent to mention here that two women were killed and two girls injured when neighbouring Iran launched airstrike in Panjgur area of Balochistan province the previous day.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in a press conference in Islamabad said that Pakistan reserves the right to respond to last night’s illegal act of breaching Pakistan’s sovereignty by Iran in Balochistan. She said that Iran’s such illegal act was completely unacceptable, and was a violation of international law. Baloch said we have conveyed this message to the Iranian government. She said Pakistan has also decided to recall its ambassador from Iran.
However, Iran claimed that it targeted Jaish al-Adl, an ethnic Baloch Sunni Muslim group, which had carried out attacks inside Iran as well as on Pakistani government forces. China on Wednesday urged Pakistan and Iran to show restraint and avoid actions that would lead to an escalation of tension.
