ISLAMABAD: International Day of Education was observed on

Wednesday. The theme of this year is ‘Learning for lasting peace’.

Educational institutions and organizations organized different events on Wednesday to highlight the importance of the day. Education is a human right, a public good and a public responsibility.

The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 24 January as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.
