Internet services restored all across country

ISLAMABAD:Citizens heaved a sigh of relief as Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Friday gradually restored internet services all across Pakistan after a three-day long disruption amid PTI’s protests against the arrest of PTI chief Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.

PTA stated internet service was being gradually restored adding that social media applications including YouTube, Twitter and Facebook had also been reactivated. The internet services were suspended by the PTA on Interior ministry’s instructions.

Earlier, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said internet services would remain suspended in the country until all identified “miscreants” were arrested.

Speaking to the media, he said the government was aware of the difficulty people were facing, adding that it was deliberating to resolve the issue. “It will take some time to arrest those who burned houses and attacked security installments,” he added.
