Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made a detailed visit to the Directorate of Passports of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
Acting Director General of the Saudi Directorate of Passports, Major General Dr Saleh Al- Murabaa welcomed the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on his arrival, according to a press release received here from Riyadh.
The Interior Minister visited various departments of the Directorate of Passports and also reviewed the call center. He appreciated the establishment of a modern call center in the Directorate of Passports.
He also reviewed the advanced technology in the Directorate of Passports and praised the modern passport system. The Interior Minister also held a meeting with the Acting Director General of the Directorate of Passports Major General Dr Saleh Al- Murabaa.
During the meeting, effective measures to simplify the system from receipt to issuance of passports and prevention of forgery were discussed. Moreover, E-Gates were also discussed in detail.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the assistance of the Saudi Directorate of Passports can prove beneficial in making the passport system in Pakistan simpler and more foolproof.
He said mutual cooperation will facilitate the people and will save them from fraudulent practices. He said a call center will also be established in Pakistan on the model of the call center of the Saudi Directorate of Passports.
The Interior Minister added that with the cooperation of Saudi Arabia, those who forge passports and documents can be caught in Pakistan.
It should be noted that 3700 Pakistanis who went to Saudi Arabia on fake passports and documents were caught by the Saudi authorities at their airports.
