Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, on Monday expressed serious concern over the inclusion of protected consumers in the non-protected category and has sought data of all DISCOs to provide relief to the protected consumers.

He has directed all directors of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to check the data of DISCOs and submit a detailed report. He tasked all the FIA directors to collect evidence within three day.

The Interior Minister directed them to submit the record of pro rata system. He said a comprehensive report on all evidence will be presented to the Prime Minister.

He also directed the Additional Director General FIA North to personally visit Peshawar, Lahore, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad to review the situation and collect data.

The Interior Minister said it is essential to redress the grievances of protected consumers. He emphasised that a thorough review of each piece of evidence will be conducted to identify the elements involved in it.

Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi made these remarks while charging a meeting to review the overbilling issue here at the Ministry of Interior on Monday. FIA officials briefed about overbilling of protected consumers.

The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary Interior, Additional DG FIA Headquarters, Additional Secretary Interior, Additional DG FIA North, and relevant officials. All FIA directors participated in the meeting via video link.
