Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has termed recent provocative remarks by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as indicative of his incompetence to effectively govern the province.
In a statement, the Information Minister condemned the Chief Minister’s threats of an onslaught on Islamabad and Punjab, calling it a declaration to repeat May 9 events.
He said that the statements, actions, and attitudes of the PTI provincial government are at odds with democratic principles and parliamentary values.
Attaullah Tarar said the government has never positioned itself to compete in areas such as education, health, employment, or economic development.
The Information Minister said that corruption and incompetence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have reached at alarming levels. He urged the provincial government to prioritize revolutionary reforms in health, education, and public welfare sectors.
Attaullah Tarar emphasized that the real competition lies in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s ability to provide relief to electricity consumers, similar to the measures implemented by the Federal and Punjab governments. He said the provincial government should compete in public service through the establishment of hospitals and educational institutions.
The Minister further said those who disrupted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit with sit-ins, are now trying to incite riots ahead of the SCO meeting.
He said PTI is perturbed over Pakistan’s progress towards economic recovery, particularly the reduction of inflation from 32 percent to 9 percent.
Attaullah Tarar concluded that Israeli agents in Pakistan are feeling pain by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s unwavering support for Palestine and his challenge to Israel.
