Info Minister and PFUJ Delegation Address Media Workers’ Salary Issues

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has announced that media owners have committed to clearing all pending payments to journalists and media workers before Eid-ul-Fitr. This assurance was given during a meeting with a delegation from the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions focused on resolving issues related to the salaries and dues of journalists and media workers. Minister Tarar informed the delegation that conversations have already taken place with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association concerning the payment of salaries to media workers. He mentioned that approval has been granted for the outstanding dues of television channels, expressing optimism that the issue will be resolved in the coming days.

Tarar also highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring timely payments to journalists, assuring the PFUJ delegation that all matters will be settled amicably. The delegation members expressed their appreciation for the Information Minister's initiatives, noting that timely payments would allow media workers to celebrate Eid with their families.
