India deploys thousands more troops in IIOJK ahead of Modi’s visit

India has sent thousands of more troops to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, already the most militarized zone in the world.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Saturday, New Delhi has ordered deployment of over 500 companies (approximately 50,000 personnel) of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in Kashmir.

The deployment has been purportedly ordered in view of Indian PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory on June 21 (Friday) and the upcoming Hindu Amarnath Yatra. Modi plans to perform yoga near the Dal Lake in Srinagar on the occasion. The annual Hindu yatra will start on June 29 and conclude on August 19, lasting 52 days.
