Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation, and Climate Change of Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Imtiaz Ahmed, inaugurated the olive plantation campaign in the village of Tami in the Muzaffarabad district.
He planted 200 olive saplings in an orchard organized by the Department of Agriculture, according to a statement from the Directorate General of Public Relations – Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The Secretary of the Government instructed to make the state self-sufficient in olive production. The purpose of the plantation campaign is to plant as many fruit-bearing and olive trees as possible to combat climate change.
On this occasion, Director of Agriculture Extension Amina Rafi, Director of Research Zafar Jahangir, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Raja Zaheer Iqbal, Fruit and Vegetable Specialist Dr. Tariq Saeed, Assistant Horticulture Officer Ghulam Murtaza Gillani, Farhat Shaheen Lady Extension Officer, Raja Shaukat Field Assistant, and Tasleem Aslam Lady Extension Assistant, along with local farmers, were also present.
