LAHORE:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Tuesday said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also be disqualified like former premier Yousuf Raza Gilani for contempt of court.
Khan said this while talking to former chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in a meeting held here at his residence in Zaman Park, Lahore. In the meeting, detailed consultation on the tickets for the election in Punjab and the political situation of the country was discussed. Imran Khan also inquired about the well-being of Moonis Elahi.
Imran Khan said to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi that by not accepting the decision of the Supreme Court, the rulers are creating a wrong tradition in the country. Imran Khan said that earlier Yousuf Raza Gilani would have suffered disqualification for contempt of court, now, Shehbaz Sharif will face the same too.
Imran Khan said that his party is going to file an application in the Supreme Court regarding Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections through Khawaja Tariq Rahim and Fawad Chaudhary.
After the meeting, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi told the media that there has been a detailed consultation on the candidates in Punjab and Imran Khan himself will announce the tickets.
He said every unconstitutional tactic is being used to stop the election from incompetent rulers who will have to answer it. Elahi said that Shahbaz Sharif wants to cling to power at any cost, even if he has to violate the constitution.
