Imran joins NAB probe in AlQadir Trust case

RAWALPINDI:Pakistan TehreekeInsaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan appeared before the NAB Rawalpindi on Tuesday in alleged illegal transfer of 190 million pounds in the AlQadir Trust case. The NAB investigation team interrogated the PTI chief for more than one hour. During investigation, Mr Khan told the accountability bureau that the Cabinet Division had all the record pertaining to any decision taken on 190 million pounds. He said he had no access to record of the UK government.

He was of the view that NAB had already taken in its custody all the record about the AlQadir Trust case. Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had left Zaman Park, Lahore for Islamabad, along with his wife Bushra Bibi with a short convoy. NAB had asked Imran Khan to answer 20 questions related to the alleged illegal transfer of 190 million pounds. In the new notice, the NAB had also sought from Mr Khan details of his assets, for which he reached the NAB Rawalpindi office.

The former prime minister also expressed fear of his possible arrest during his appearance in NAB Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, imposition of Section 144 has been extended till May 28. Strict security arrangements had been made for PTI chairman Imran Khan when he reached the NAB Rawalpindi office. Police personnel, Rangers and FC men were performing security duties. The office had been completely sealed.
