QUETTA:Caretaker Minister for Information, Jan Achakzai, has said that Afghan refugees have only 27 days to leave the country and after the expiry of the period, strict action would be taken in case of non-compliance of eviction order.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club here on Wednesday, he said no international pressure regarding expelling of Afghan refugees would be accepted. He said that Afghan refugees had caused damage to the country.
Mr Jan said that ratio of crime would be decreased after expelling Afghan refugees from the country. He said, “From January, 2023 till now 24 suicide attacks had been carried out in the country”, adding that six attackers involved in an attack at a check post in Killa Saifullah were Afghanis while three attackers on Zhob’s Cantt attack were also Afghanis.
As the clock ticks down for Afghan refugees in Pakistan, the implications of this decision are poised to reverberate both nationally and internationally, with humanitarian concerns at the forefront of the discourse.
