The Islami Jamiat Tulaba (IJT) District Quetta staged a protest on Thursday, calling for the restoration of student unions and the reopening of the Bolan Medical College (BMC) hostel.

The protest, organized by IJT District Quetta, took place at a central location in the city.

Speakers at the demonstration emphasized the importance of student unions in fostering educated leadership for the nation. They argued that the ongoing ban on student unions had affected the development of future leaders.

The protestors also expressed concern over the closure of BMC’s hostel, which they attributed to a minor scuffle between two student groups. They claimed that the hostel’s closure had unjustly affected many students and hindered their academic progress.

Among those addressing the gathering were Bahadur Khan Kakar, Provincial President of IJT Balochistan, Ayaz Khan Kakar, President of IJT District Quetta, and Atta-ur-Rehman Akhunzada, General Secretary of IJT District Quetta. The protestors chanted slogans in support of their demands for the reopening of the hostel and the restoration of student unions.

The demonstration concluded peacefully, with protestors dispersing after voicing their concerns.
