A heartfelt condolence reference was held in honor of the late Dr Nabi Bux Jumani, former Vice President of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), where prominent figures paid glowing tributes to his invaluable contributions to education, curriculum development, distance learning, progress of university and research.

According to a statement issued from IIUI today, speakers fondly remembered his lifelong dedication to the promotion of knowledge, his affectionate personality, and his unwavering commitment to hard work.

Dr. Nasir Mehmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), highlighted Dr. Jumani’s unwavering honesty towards the teaching profession. “His students’ praise, both during his life and now after his passing, is a testament to his success,” he said, praying for Dr. Jumani’s eternal peace.

Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, President of IIUI, expressed profound sorrow at the irreparable loss. He remarked that Dr. Jumani’s departure has left a void that will never be filled. “He was a man of updated knowledge and innovation,” said Dr. Sarwar, emphasizing that his life remains a source of inspiration for academicians, administrators, and leaders. He added that after Dr. Jumani’s passing, many came forward to share how his influence had positively impacted their lives.

In an emotional address, Abdul Karim Bux Jumani, the brother of the late Dr. Jumani, shared the grief felt by the family, but stressed the importance of patience during this difficult time, saying that we all belong to Allah.

Dr. Aamir Tuaseen, member of IIUI’s board of governors, remembered Dr. Jumani as a man of integrity and affection, while Dr. Naseer Ahmed Akhtar, also a board member, praised his commitment to education and his readiness to support the university’s progress. They said he was always found a man of immense love for the university.

Former Rector of IIUI, Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, shared his reflections on the late Dr. Jumani’s leadership and scholarly contributions. He emphasized Dr. Jumani’s pivotal role in advancing academic initiatives at IIUI and beyond, and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of such an esteemed colleague.

Dr Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, former President of IIUI, recalled Dr. Jumani’s lasting legacy within the university. He praised his dedication to both the institution and his field, underscoring that Dr. Jumani’s efforts had left an indelible mark on the university’s growth and its reputation on an international level.

Former IIUI President, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, also spoke at the reference, acknowledging Dr. Jumani’s love for the university and his relentless dedication to its advancement. He prayed for his departed soul and for strength for the bereaved family.

Qasim Haider, a close friend and relative, shared stories of Dr. Jumani’s arduous journey from his humble beginnings in a rural village to becoming a top academic leader at an internationally recognized university. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Director General Islamic Research Institute, paid tribute to Dr. Jumani’s vision and tireless efforts for collaborations and institutional endowment. Dr. Shamsa Aziz, former head of IIUI’s Department of Education, Rehan ud Din Golra, IIUI’s legal advisor, academicians and students paid tribute to Dr. N. B. Jumani in the the reference.

The condolence reference was attended by notable academicians, family members, friends, university faculty, officers, employees, and a large number of students who had been influenced by Dr. Jumani. The event concluded with a dua led by Khateeb of Faisal Masjid, Qari Dr. Zia ur Rehman, , for the eternal peace of Dr. Jumani’s soul.
