ISLAMABAD:,,, The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday dismissed the pending contempt of court plea against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif.
The contempt plea was moved in IHC against Sharif in 2018 by a citizen Adnan Iqbal over his anti-judiciary remarks after being disqualified.
In his petition, the petitioner had pleaded that the PML-N chief had been constantly disgracing the judiciary and other state institutions in the media, so the contempt proceedings against the former prime minister should be initiated.
As no one appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner, so Chief Justice Aamer Farooq dismissed the petition for non-compliance.
