Human Trafficking a Grave Challenge for the World, Millions Affected: President Zardari

In his message on the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, President Asif Ali Zardari stressed the urgent need to combat human trafficking, calling it an organized crime exploiting millions worldwide. He highlighted the 2025 theme, “Human Trafficking is Organized Crime – End Exploitation,” emphasizing the role of criminal networks in perpetuating this violation.

Zardari identified poverty, conflict, lack of education, and dangerous migration routes as key drivers of human trafficking. He noted that women, children, and vulnerable populations are disproportionately affected. The President highlighted the tragic loss of life caused by unsafe migration facilitated by smugglers.

He called for international cooperation, increased public awareness, and unified action to eradicate human trafficking. Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enforcing strong regulations and implementing existing strategies to combat this illicit trade.

He stated that Pakistani authorities are actively working to dismantle trafficking organizations and prosecute perpetrators. Zardari pledged continued collaboration with international allies to end human trafficking and promote an exploitation-free world.
