Human rights situation in IIOJK hits a new low: KMS Report

The human rights situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir has hit a new low, with Indian troops committing daily war crimes with complete impunity.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Thursday, since the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the occupied territory has witnessed a surge in violence, with over 900 Kashmiris killed, 2440 injured, and at least 24,500 arrested.

The Indian government’s draconian measures have turned IIOJK into the world’s most militarized zone, with nearly one million troops stationed in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Probe agencies are being used to intimidate and silence Kashmiris, while the Modi regime’s ongoing human rights abuses aim to suppress the Kashmiri people’s quest for freedom.

International human rights laws are being blatantly violated, with the deteriorating situation directly linked to the unresolved Kashmir dispute. Those who keep a watch on day-to-day development in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, have urged international community to take immediate action to address the worsening crisis and shield Kashmiris from the Modi regime’s repression.
